Chrissy Rivas

Chrissy joined John Knox Co-op Preschool as a parent from 2016 through 2020 when her two daughters were students here. She began teaching at JKCP in 2021, substituting from time to time when her nephew was enrolled in our Pre-K class! Before coming to JKCP, Chrissy worked for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District as a Braille Interpreter, Inclusion Specialist and Behavior Specialist. Teaching children is her passion. She feels honored to be a part of a child’s early education. Chrissy patiently guides and engages children using positive reinforcements. She received her Early Childhood Education from Las Positas College. She loves being part of such a supportive community and watching parents have a hand in their child’s early education. One of Chrissy’s favorite quotes is written by Alfie Kohn, “If children feel safe, they can take risks, ask questions, make mistakes, learn to trust, share their feelings, and grow.”
